The First Few Weeks of School!

We Started the year strong by meeting with our K/1 buddies! We meet every other Friday to read together and do great "Get to know you" activities!

 Our first week of math class we worked through the Week of Inspirational Math. We followed that up with a hands on lesson on mean, median and mode using an Oreo stacking competition. We even got to eat some in the end!

Followed by more problem solving through tower building!

Butterflies!

Our caterpillars are starting to emerge from their cocoons as butterflies!

Caterpillars to Butterflies

As part of our living things unit, we have been observing caterpillar larvae turning into butterflies. We received this butterfly kit as part of a grant from the WAWM Education Foundation. All of the larvae has grown into caterpillars, and some have even turned into a cocoon! We're excited for them to compete their metamorphosis into butterflies!
